The Centre for Information Technology is a directorate that provides technological and computational support for the Polytechnic. Its services include Maintenance and repair of the Polytechnic Wi-Fi and Local Area Network (LAN), System Maintenance and repair, application development and Maintenance, web application development and hosting services, technical support, computer training, and IT security. The Centre also provides the students with a conducive learning environment equipped with essential learning facilities which include 24 hours Wi-Fi connectivity to access the Internet and the digital library within the campus.

Functions of the Centre

The functions of the CIT include:

• providing information systems and networking services;
• identifying new computing technologies with application to administrative and academic research;
• purchasing, creating, and maintaining software applications;
• providing the Polytechnic staff with computing information, expertise, and training.

ADMINISTRATION OF THE CENTRE

The Centre Coordinator

Dami Saley Dabai is the coordinator of the Centre. He was born on May 5th, 1972 in Dabai district of Zuru local goverment area of Kebbi State. He attended Anglican Primary school Itoga, Badagry, Lagos State from 1980 to 1986. In September 1986, he gained admission in to Topo Grammar School, Badagry, Lagos State. In 1994 he gained admission into The Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi where he obtained a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1996. From 1996 to 2000 worked as an electrical technician at KEW Metal Works, Ogijo, Shagamu local government of Ogun State. In 2002 was he obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) in electrical Engineering (Power option) from the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi. In 2005 he obtained Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University and in 2013 in obtained BSc in Computer Science at the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero. He is pioneer Coordinator of the Centre For Information Technology (CIT).
