The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (C.E.D) was establish to prepare students to be productive , flexible and able to adapt to the changing demands of the modern economy.
The aim of the Centre is to inculcate in students the skills (competencies) and knowledge needed to successfully manage their personal businesses. It will also help to develop in students a realist knowledge and understanding of business and working life.
The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development is made up of three units:

1. Academic Program Unit:

   This unit is responsible for the Development of courses and curriculum, it also in charge of training programmes, workshops, Seminars etc.

2. Skill Acquisition Unit:

This unit organises and train students on various skills available within the Centre. This include:

1. Computer Maintenance and Repairs

2. Barbing Saloon

3. Cosmetic Production

4. Tailoring

Plan is also in progress to introduce the following trades:

1. Furniture and Carpentry

2. Welding and Fabrication

3. Bakery and Confectionary

4. Electrical Installation

5. Poultry/Fisheries Management

3. Enterprise Development Unit:

   This unit is in charge of supervising of all CED Enterprise or ventures. It is also responsible for monitoring of profitability of each skill and venture at the Centre.

ADMINISTRATION OF THE DEPARTMENT

 

The Director

Mr Balogun Bamidele is the Ag Director, Centre Entrepreneurship Development (C.E.D) of the Polytechnic. He is a seasoned administrator, academician and a management consultant. He hold both a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger State, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. He holds Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and a Masters of Science (MSc) in Business Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and a professional Diploma in Education (PDE) from Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Bamidele is well equipped with both academic and professional experience and is a member of several professional bodies among which includes :

1. Charted Institute of Administration (CIA)
2. Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (MIMC)
3. Association for National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
4. Royal Life Saving Society of Nigeria.
